Students are expected to read their Independent Reading (IR) books each night. Fifty pages will be due each Monday for a grade in the Independent Reading category for Literature.
A one page revision of a daily question is due throughout the quarter. Students should revise using the tricks and tips we discussed in class using mentor texts. This will be recorded as an Independent Writing grade in Language Arts.

What’s happening in Literature and Language Arts?
April 25 - 29 — Journals for students in hours 3 and 8 are due on April 29th. Journals are due for all students in 6th hour on Friday, May 6th
Continue to work on your Best Feature Presentation as you finish reading your IR books! When it is completed, you will give your presentation to the class.
Literacy Night is Thursday, April 28th at 6 PM. Read one of the three books (Maze Runner, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, or The Outsiders). Join a trivia team and win a free book for attending. Light snacks will be provided. The LIT/LA block with highest participation of students will watch the movie during class! I hope to see you there.

Textbooks are kept in my classroom but can be sent home as needed for assignment completion. Students just need to ask me for one!

Late Work Policy
Late work will be accepted, but points will be deducted from the grade. Corrections can be made to any assignments. The original work and corrected work should be returned to the teacher the next school day. Absent work should be completed and turned in as soon as possible.
