Classroom Information and Expectations

Welcome to the 2022-2023 School Year!
I am so excited to be working with your children this year. This is my sixth year teaching at McKinley, and I look forward to another awesome year. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have throughout the school year. I am available by phone, email, and through "remind texting."
Class Information
Our class focuses on academic and functional skills. We utilize Unique, edMark reading, and Equals math curriculums as a part of our Life Skills program. Each day, we rotate through centers where students receive individualized instruction in reading, math, and writing. We also participate in whole group and small group lessons daily. Additionally, our students have a school job of mail delivery. Each day, we fill envelopes with staff's mail, and deliver them to the classrooms. It is a great way for us to get out and about in the school.

iPads will be sent home daily, along with chargers. If your child is absent, assignments will be posted on the Seesaw app. We have also been utilizing the Seesaw app in the classroom to complete a variety of activities. Please be sure to charge your child's iPad each night, so it is ready to use each day at school.
