Mrs. Arnold - Reading Specialist

Welcome back!  I’m so excited to get this school year started!  Here are some things that our students will be learning while in the Reading Room this year:

  • Letters and sounds

  • Sight words

  • Fluency

  • Comprehension skills

As the school year goes on, please take some time every day to read with your child. Even 10 minutes a day will help them out in the long run. Here are some things that you can talk about at home after you are done reading:

  • What part did you like the most?

  • Why do you think the character did that?

  • Would you have done the same thing as __________?

  • Who do you think is the best character?

  • Where and when does the story take place?

  • How would you change the ending of the story?

Please let me know if you have any questions!  Let’s have a great school year!
