E Learning Assistance

Look no further - MobyMax is here!

Hi families!

As we weather this unique situation, I wanted to post a few resources to help you continue your child's learning.
As you already know, we use MobyMax in our resource classroom. Moby is a GREAT resource! It will provide your child with a large variety of learning opportunities at their level.  So if your child is struggling with resources that their teacher sent home, or you just want to continue your child's learning with level appropriate materials check this out! There are learning modules for:
  • Foundational Reading Skills
  • Sight Words
  • Language/Grammar
  • Vocabulary Development
  • Math Fact Fluency (Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division)
  • Math Skills
  • Writing Workshops
  • Science
  • Social Studies
  •  AND MORE!

But Moby isn't just boring skill and drill. Kids can watch instructional videos to learn skills. They can earn badges for completing work accurately. They can earn and design their own certificates for a job well done. But best of all, they can EARN their game time. Students earn game time by completing work in Moby. The more they work, the more game time they earn. How's that for a win-win!

I can check up on them too and send them encouraging messages! We can keep in touch.

I've sent home a letter explaining how to get online with MobyMax. Here are the directions again.

  1. Go to www.mobymax.com/signin/oes141
  2.  Click on your child's name
  3. Choose your child's two pictures. Your child should know them. They are also on the handout I sent home.

I've set recommended times to be spent in each of the core areas we typically work in. But I have opened up all learning modules for them to explore. Have fun while learning! Learn something new!

Good luck! And please feel free to contact me anytime at [email protected].

KINDERGARTEN & FIRST GRADE SPECIAL EDUCATION READING

We love to have fun while we learn!

Jolly Phonics Reading Intervention
The kids love to sing the songs while learning their letter names and letter sounds.
Each letter has an action that the kids love to do too. We blend visual learning with audiory/musical and kinesthetic learning!

FOURTH GRADE SPECIAL EDUCATION READING

Read Naturally
A program that works to improve reading fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension through teacher modeling, repeated reading, and progress monitoring.

Students are assessed to find their independent reading level. Students read along with a fluent reader. Teacher modeling helps students learn new words and master others as well as learn proper pronunciation, expression and phrasing.  Students then use repeated reading to master difficult words, increase accuracy, and improve expression to become a more fluent reader themselves. Students use graphs to track their progress. And finally, they are presented with comprehension questions about each story. We utilize this opportunity to teach students to go back into the text and find information that will help them answer questions about main idea, details, vocabulary, and inferencing.
