WELCOME to a new adventure!

Welcome to preschool!  My name is Miss Lindsay, and I am your child’s preschool teacher.  For some of you this is a brand new adventure and we are very excited to meet you and guide you along the way!  Our paraprofessional working with us in the room is Miss Sydney . We are ready to be back and are full of great ideas for a new school year!  We believe that this will be a fun and inspiring year for both you and your child. This year your child will learn many new and interesting things.  Throughout the year we will be sending home activities for you to do with your child to connect school and home. 

We will be sending letters home frequently, to keep you updated on what is happening in the room as well as using classdojo.   Your child will receive a blue folder that needs to come to school with them everyday. We will not be checking book bags instead your child will have a job of placing their blue folder in a bucket every day for us to check.  Feel free to write any questions or comments you have in the folder. Please make sure to check your child’s bag and communication folder daily.  

The theme of our room is “natural wonder”.  I have incorporated natural objects in each center such as sticks, rocks, shells, etc.  If you child finds interesting outside objects please encourage them to bring them in. Also this is their school family and I want it to feel as homey as possible.  If your child wants to bring in pictures of animals, family, friends or trips please do so. We will hang them in our room. The color in our room will be from your child’s work here at school/home.  I hope to encourage your child to use their imaginations and develop exploration skills during the next few months.I am excited to work as a team to help your child develop skills to foster a lifetime love of learning.

 Preschool Supply List

REQUIRED ITEMS

- 1 normal-sized Backpack - NO WHEELS PLEASE

Your child will need to bring this bag to school everyday. Please be sure the bag is large enough to easily hold the folder and carry projects that come home. No small book bags please. Also, please be sure your child can carry and open this bag easily. Zippers seem to work best. Please put child’s name on the outside of the book bag.

- 1 complete change of clothing

This should include underwear, one pair of pants, one pair of shorts, a top, and a pair of socks. All of these items should be labeled with your child’s name. Please send both a pair of shorts and a pair of pants so we have clothing for all types of weather. Also, we go outside at all times of the school year, so clothing must be appropriate for the weather. 

OPTIONAL ITEMS NEEDED FOR THE CLASSROOM

- 1 box of Kleenex

- 1 roll of paper towels

- 1 container of ziploc baggies (SNACK and SANDWICH)

- 2 containers of wipes (1 antibacterial and 1 baby wipes)

- play doh

If your child is in the process of potty training, please send…

* A small supply of disposable diapers or pull-ups (5 or 6) and

* 1 full size package of baby wipes
