MARCH MADNESS kicked off last Friday with two fairy tales read by several OHS basketball players. Snow White, one of the dwarfs, and the evil witch also appeared! Students in grades K-4 will listen to two more fairy tales read by teachers each day and vote on their favorite one. There are 16 fairy tales in the book bracket which is posted in the gym. Each pairing has a traditional fairy tale versus a fractured fairy tale. The madness continues until Thursday, March 21st. Which fairy tale will be the favorite?
Shout-out to Mrs. Bartman, Miss Chamberlain, and Mrs. Culjan for organizing March Madness!

March Madness Part 2!
🏀📚Jefferson kicked off our yearly March Madness Book Tournament today! This year, our theme is Fairy Tales vs. Fractured Fairy Tales. We were excited to have OHS Basketball Players come read the first two books to kick off the tournament. Snow White, the Evil Queen, and Sleepy (Murphy) made an appearance, too! Students will listen to two books each day and vote until we have our winner!
Next Thursday, March 7th from 4-7 is our Jefferson BASH To You Night! We hope to see you there!

Financial Plus visited the fourth grade classrooms yesterday! The students really enjoyed the presentations!
Talk about celebrity status and leaving EVERYONE feeling excited and amazing today! A huge shout out and thank you to our VERY special guests, our local OHS basketball players, for joining our Champions of the Charter for lunch today!!!! You are definitely #1 in our book and will always have the JES Panthers to cheer you on!! GO PIRATES!!!!
Happy Tuesday! With the month of February soon coming to a close, we wanted to recognize these PAW-SOME students who were chosen as our Champions of the Charter! These emotional scientists definitely have a heart of gold and did an outstanding job following their classroom charters throughout the month of February! Their outstanding efforts have left us all feeling so PROUD, HAPPY, and EXCITED, definitely in the YELLOW!
Way to show emotional intelligence by having the mindset of a champion!!!

United Way of Eastern LaSalle County came to Jefferson today to congratulate Murphy on graduating and brought him some presents. They also presented Nate Pinter and Alecia Ruiz certificates for completing the training. They know how much of a positive impact Murphy has made on staff and students at Jefferson!

Please take note of the following reminder: On Friday, February 16th, the students from Kindergarten to 6th grade will be dismissed at 11:30 AM, while the students from 7th to 8th grade will be dismissed at 12:10 PM. Also, school will not be in session on Monday, February 19th in observance of Presidents Day. Preschool reminder for Friday 2/16/24: PFAE (Mrs. Anderson's class) will dismiss at 11:30 am. PFA (half-day sections) will both be in session for AM and PM preschool. No school on Monday 2/19/24. Please let daycares, sitters, and other adults who help with transport know of these dates.
