Shepherd Band Students have been busy the past 2 weekends!
On November 18, three Shepherd band members represented us at the Inaugural Geneseo Middle School Honors Band. The students rehearsed for 8 hours under nationally renowned conductor Chip DeStefano, putting on a final performance later that day. Congratulations to Kyana B., Landon F., and Denali R.!
On Friday, November 24, we had a volunteer ensemble that participated in the Festival of Lights Parade. Thank you to Leah N., Wrigley L., Addisyn B., Micah S., Josalyn L., Brennen H., Leo C., Aries B., and Atlas B.!



Wrestling tryouts will be November 27-December 1 from 3:50-4:50 at Central Intermediate School.
Volleyball tryouts will be held November 27-28:
November 27 at Shepherd
7th grade 4:00-5:15
8th grade 5:30-6:45
November 28 at Central
7th & 8th grade 4:00-6:00
Students must have a current physical, insurance, and concussion form on file in order to try out.

Shepherd Cheerleaders placed 1st in the Junior High Game Day Division at Wilmington this weekend. Way to go, ladies!


Parent Teacher Conferences are being held today, from 11:00-6:15, with a break for all staff from 3:00-3:30. Due to other events in the building, all conference attendees must enter the building at the main entrance, which faces North toward McKinley Road.
The West lobby will only be open for the 8th Grade Girls Regional Basketball Tournament that is taking place this evening.
Visitors to the building will not be able to travel between the West Lobby/Gym areas and the rest of the building due to the tournament and conferences taking place at the same time.

Leela Gr. was awarded the IESA Sportsmanship Award following the 7th grade Regional Championship basketball game. Way to go, Leela! We are so proud of you!

Our 13 ILMEA qualifiers did a great job at the ILMEA festival on Saturday. Way to go!

Our Fall Flannel Fest Dance is tonight from 6:30-8:00. Entry cost is $5.00.
In order to attend, students must have their SMS Student ID, be passing all classes (No Fs), and be in attendance at school today. All school rules apply, including dress code.
No entries permitted after 7:00 and all students must be picked up by 8:15.
Student athletes participating in the away game tonight should have received additional information from their coach.
