Here’s our last group of winners from our Get Caught Reading contest this week. Congrats to the winners and enjoy your new book! We hope everyone makes time to read over the long weekend. 🐾 📚🐾

📚 Jefferson 3rd grade classes enjoyed a trip to the past with a visit to the Little Red School House. Mrs. Roth taught us many facts about schools of the past, read a story, and did a craft with each class. 📚

Just sending a reminder that Jefferson does not have school tomorrow, Friday, November 7th because of a teacher institute. Have a great 3 day weekend!!!!!
It’s Children’s Book Week and these students were caught reading by their teachers on Tuesday. Congrats on your new book! Who will win a book tomorrow? Keep on reading at school and at home, Panthers!📕🐾

Look who got caught reading by their teachers on Monday! Congratulations to our students who won a book.👏🏼
We can’t wait to see who will be in the next round of winners!

At Jefferson Elementary we utilize the RULER Approach which is an evidenced-based curriculum used to promote social and emotional learning amongst all students.
RULER is an acronym that represents the five skills of emotional intelligence: Recognizing, Understanding, Labeling, Expressing and Regulating emotions. Research has found that students who exhibit a high level of emotional intelligence are able to make more responsible decisions, establish positive peer relationships and perform better in school.
One major component of RULER is the Classroom Charter. The Classroom Charter is centered around what positive emotions students and teachers want to experience here at school, as well as the prosocial behaviors and expectations that are required to create a positive learning environment for everyone.
Every month each classroom teacher selects one student to be named "Champion of the Charter" which reflects that student's dedication to do the right thing, being a positive role model and demonstrating emotional intelligence.
October's Champions of the Charters have been announced. Join us in congratulating the following students:
K: Albert H. Brooks K. & Emery M.
1st: Griffey F., Everleigh D. & Malachi S.
2nd: Dawson O., River K., Leo T. & Mason D.
3rd: Remi L., Fiona G., Ruby M. & Aiden B.
4th: Autumn H., Kristany S.-G. & Adelyn D.
We want to thank Jimmy Johns for the generous donation of sandwiches provided to us for our Champions of the Charter Luncheon!

Jefferson students enjoyed author Jacob Grant’s visit on Thursday afternoon. As he demonstrated how he draws his character named Umami, the students practiced drawing in their sketchbooks.
