18 finalists competed in our school Spelling Bee today. We are proud of everyone who participated and want to congratulate our champions, Miles J. and Tobias Z.!





Come cheer on the 8th Grade Girls Basketball team on Wednesday, December 11, at 6:30 pm when they take on Bolingbrook Jane Addams Middle School in the IESA Sectional. The game will take place at Shorewood Troy Middle School (5800 Theodore St, Plainfield, IL), with an entry fee of $5 for all spectators.
If you'd prefer to stay closer to home, our 8th grade Boys Basketball players, Cheerleaders, and Poms will be recognized at 8th grade night between the 7th and 8th grade Boys Basketball home game on December 11. Game times are 7th at 4:30 and 8th at 5:30.

The Shepherd Student Council donated $200.00 to Freezin' for a Reezin'. Once again, thank you to all who have supported our fundraising efforts this year; our students love giving back to their community!
In addition to the monetary donation, the Shepherd Choir will perform on WCMY to support Freezin' for a Reezin' on Friday, December 6 at 10:30 am.

Our 12 Days of Holiday Fun starts on Thursday!


On Friday and Saturday, Shepherd band members Brennen, Ray, Landon F., Landon G., Maddie, Emma, Natalie, Charlotte, Kai, and Jimi performed in both the Ottawa Festival of Lights Parade and the Naplate Santa Parade. These students did an excellent job braving the cold and bringing their musical talents to our community. Thank you for your hard work!

This morning, our Student Council donated $200.00 to the Ottawa Sunrise Rotary for their Annual Book and Toy Drive. This great group of students continuously seeks ways to give back to the community. Thank you to all who have supported our fundraising efforts this year; we couldn't have done it without you!

Shepherd Middle School is so proud of our band members Emersen, Ray, Emma, Sebastian, Natalie, Hayden, Landon, Micah, Christian, Kyana, Brennen, and Henry for participating in the ILMEA District 2 Festival!
These students had a long day of rehearsal, followed by an incredible performance under the direction of Dr. James Swearingen of Monmouth College. These talented students have represented themselves and Ottawa so well. Congratulations to these young musicians!

Congratulations to the 8th grade Lady Rams on being the Starved Rock Conference Champs! We are so proud of you!

Congratulation to the 7th grade Lady Rams for placing 3rd in the Starved Rock Conference Tournament! We are so proud of you!

Shepherd Middle School will be observing Red Ribbon Week from October 25 - October 31. Students are invited to participate in the dress up themes as listed on the poster.
*If students choose to wear a costume on October 31st, they must adhere to the following guidelines:
Costume preparation must take place at home. There will not be time alotted to change, prep accessories, etc once at school.
Costumes may not:
Cover/obscure the face (no masks, no face paint)
Cause a distraction/disruption to the school environment
Include weapons, look-alike weapons, props, or blood/guts/gore
Include inflatable costumes
All school/dress code rules apply. Students that are not in compliance with dress code/costume contest rules will be required to change.
Students/parents that have questions about the acceptability of their costume should check with the office prior to wearing the costume to school.
