Shepherd Middle School is so proud of our band members Emersen, Ray, Emma, Sebastian, Natalie, Hayden, Landon, Micah, Christian, Kyana, Brennen, and Henry for participating in the ILMEA District 2 Festival!
These students had a long day of rehearsal, followed by an incredible performance under the direction of Dr. James Swearingen of Monmouth College. These talented students have represented themselves and Ottawa so well. Congratulations to these young musicians!

Congratulations to the 8th grade Lady Rams on being the Starved Rock Conference Champs! We are so proud of you!

Congratulation to the 7th grade Lady Rams for placing 3rd in the Starved Rock Conference Tournament! We are so proud of you!

Shepherd Middle School will be observing Red Ribbon Week from October 25 - October 31. Students are invited to participate in the dress up themes as listed on the poster.
*If students choose to wear a costume on October 31st, they must adhere to the following guidelines:
Costume preparation must take place at home. There will not be time alotted to change, prep accessories, etc once at school.
Costumes may not:
Cover/obscure the face (no masks, no face paint)
Cause a distraction/disruption to the school environment
Include weapons, look-alike weapons, props, or blood/guts/gore
Include inflatable costumes
All school/dress code rules apply. Students that are not in compliance with dress code/costume contest rules will be required to change.
Students/parents that have questions about the acceptability of their costume should check with the office prior to wearing the costume to school.

These state-level honored students spent months preparing a rigorous audition, and they will be traveling to Augstana College on Saturday, November 2nd to represent Shepherd at the ILMEA Junior Band festival. A huge congratulations to these young musicians!

Student Council will be holding a fundraiser at Culver's on Monday, October 21st. We hope to see you there!


This weekend the Shepherd Lady Rams were represented by Kennedy K. and Leela G. at the all state Future Champions softball tournament in Jacksonville IL! Congratulations ladies well deserved!

Student Council is holding a Nothing Bundt Cakes fundraiser tomorrow during the Ottawa Scarecrow Festival. Our booth will be located on the south end of Washington Park. We hope to see you there!

Come support the Lady Rams basketball team at the home opener tomorrow. Doors open at 4:00. Students are invited to participate in the Rock'n Roll Theme. All school dress code rules apply. We hope to see you there!

The 24-25 school year is right around the corner and we are so excited to see you back at school!
Student schedules and information will be mailed on August 9.
Our Supply Drop Off Night is scheduled for August 19 from 5:30-7:00. Students will have the opportunity to drop off supplies, meet their teachers, and practice using their locker/locker combination.
The first day of school is Wednesday, August 21. Dismissal will be at 12:10.

Shepherd Softball Tryout Update: Due to all the rain, the field is too wet for tryouts today.
Tryouts will now be Tuesday, 7/30 and Wednesday, 7/31 from 4:00-6:00 pm. Athlete must be at both tryout days.
