McKinley Elementary School

KHC is underway, and our school is excited about feeling good while doing good! McKinley Elementary School is helping kids with special hearts through Kids Heart Challenge. We want as many families as possible to learn about heart health and the lifesaving skill of Hands-Only CPR.

You can help by completing Finn’s Mission. When your student completes all the steps, they’ll earn a Lifesavers Cape and earn a chance to win two tickets to Super Bowl LXI in 2027!

OES will have an E-Learning Day tomorrow (Friday, January 23) due to the extreme cold warning. Please check in your child to TeacherEase by logging in and clicking the “Check In” icon. If you have any questions regarding class assignments please contact your child's teacher. Stay safe and warm!

Yearbook order forms will be coming home with students soon. You can choose to order online ( book.hrimaging.com ) or you can complete the order form and return it to the office. Yearbooks are $15 and all orders are due February 27th. Please contact the office if you have any questions. Thank you!

We are thrilled to share that our very own, Mrs. Baxter, was nominated as Teacher of the Month from Shaw Local Radio. This included a pizza party for her 3rd grade class. We are grateful to have such a dedicated and hard working teacher here at McKinley. Thank you for all that you do Mrs. Baxter!

January Lunch Menu

Yesterday our 1st and 2nd graders under the direction of Mrs. Sanders shared their talents with the school. They did a fabulous job both at school and at their concerts earlier in the week!

This is just a reminder of our dismissal at 11:30 a.m. tomorrow (Friday, December 19th). We wish everyone an enjoyable holiday season with friends and family! We look forward to seeing everyone when school resumes on Monday, January 5th.

December Lunch Menu

We recently celebrated our 1st trimester golden book award winners in the library. The class from each grade level that accumulated the most stickers for the 1st trimester were awarded the golden book award with a treat for each student in class, as well as an extra recess from Mrs. Jett. Students earn stickers each week in the library for the whole class returning their books and for good behavior. Congratulations to our 1st trimester golden book award winners: Mrs. Berryman, Ms. Ferguson,Mrs. Walker, Mrs. Sauter, Mrs. Munz and Mr. Jetts classes!
