We have our first winners for the gift certificates to Prairie Fox Books!
This year in the library the students can earn individual stickers for bringing their books back on time or returning any homework that is given to them within the deadline given. At the end of the trimesters students from each class with the most stickers go into a drawing for the bookstore gift certificates.

One of our first graders, Van H. cashed in his positive behavior red tickets to have lunch with Mr. Marxman. They had a blast! Keep up the great work, Van!

🇺🇸 Honoring Our Heroes This Veterans Day
Today, we pause to honor and thank all the brave men and women who have served our country in the United States Armed Forces. Your courage, sacrifice, and dedication protect the freedoms we cherish every day.
At McKinley, we are grateful for the veterans in our community — including our students’ family members, alumni, and staff — who have answered the call to serve. Also, a big thank you to all of the veterans who attended our program yesterday.

We are excited to introduce our Holiday Hope Tree Program this year! All students should have received a hard copy of our Holiday Help Assistance Form from their teacher. Please see the attached flyer for additional details regarding this program and opportunity.

Students in grades K-6 will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m. tomorrow (Friday, October 31). As a reminder, we will have students parade around the school in their costumes beginning at 10:00 a.m. Parents are welcome to spread around the outside of the school along the sidewalks to view the parade.
Also, just a reminder there will be no school next Friday, November 7 due to a Teacher Institute Day.

November Lunch Menu
A big thank you to the Ottawa Fire Dept. for teaching our students all about fire safety! We learned about how to respond in the event of a fire and how important smoke detectors are in our homes. Of course we also enjoyed seeing a firefighter put on all of the safety gear!
Thank you to our guest author, Jacob Grant for sharing his love of creating picture books with our students! We had the opportunity to draw together and talk through the detailed process of creating a book. We hope our families will join us tonight for our combined K-4 district family literacy night at Jefferson School beginning at 5:30 p.m.!
